How to Connect a .pk Domain to Cloudflare

If you bought a .pk domain from seaserver.pk. They mostly give you limited records to update; in my case, when I bought findio.pk. I was not able to add the subdomains.

for example:

app.findio.pk
api.findio.pk
blog.findio.pk

The solution is to use Cloudflare for DNS management.

1. Go to Cloudflare and create an account if you don't already have one.

2. Add your domain to Cloudflare. By going to your dashboard > Domains > Overview > Add domain.

3. After adding the domain, Cloudflare will give you two nameservers.

They will look something like:

example.ns.cloudflare.com
another.ns.cloudflare.com

4. Now go back to seaserver.pk and open your domain management panel (OR You can ask their support team to update the records for you).

Find the option to update the nameservers of your domain.

Replace the existing nameservers with the two nameservers Cloudflare gave you.

For example:

Nameserver 1:
example.ns.cloudflare.com

Nameserver 2:
another.ns.cloudflare.com

Save the changes.

If you don't see an option to update nameservers, you can contact SeaServer support and ask them to update the nameservers for you.

5. Now go back to Cloudflare.

It may take some time before Cloudflare detects the new nameservers.

Once everything is updated, your domain should show as Active inside Cloudflare.

6. After that, go to:

Cloudflare Dashboard > Your Domain > DNS > Records

Now you can add your subdomains.

For example, if you want to create:

app.findio.pk

You can add a CNAME record like:

Type: CNAME
Name: app
Target: your-app.vercel.app

Same for other subdomains:

api.findio.pk
blog.findio.pk
dashboard.findio.pk
docs.findio.pk

You can now manage all these records directly from Cloudflare.

If you are using Vercel

If your app is deployed on Vercel, first add your custom domain inside the Vercel project.

For example:

app.findio.pk

Vercel will then give you the DNS record you need to add.

Just copy that record and add it inside Cloudflare.

After DNS propagation, Vercel should verify the domain automatically.

One important thing

If you are already using email on your domain, make sure your email DNS records are also available in Cloudflare before changing the nameservers.

These can include:

MX
TXT
SPF
DKIM
DMARC

Otherwise, your website may work fine but your email can stop working.

That's it

Your domain will still remain registered with SeaServer / PKNIC.

You are only using Cloudflare to manage the DNS.

So the setup becomes:

SeaServer / PKNIC
        ↓
Cloudflare Nameservers
        ↓
Cloudflare DNS
        ↓
Your websites, apps, APIs, email, etc.

This worked well for me with findio.pk and gives much more control compared to the limited DNS options you usually get with the domain provider.
